Queensland University of Technology (QUT) has appointed BeefLedger founder and chairman, Warwick Powell, as an Adjunct Professor.
The post is in the QUT Design Lab, School of Design Office, Creative Industries Faculty.
During the term of the appointment, Warwick looks forward to contributing to the University through joint industry and academic leadership of the Food Agility-sponsored “export smart contracts” project.
He will also contribute through:
- Design and offering of QUT EX executive short courses and master classes on AgTech and blockchain related topics;
- Participation in the research culture of the QUT design lab and IFE including seminars, workshops and lectures;
- Associate supervision of MPhil HDR candidate in the QUT Business School BEST centre; and
- Identifying and pursuing new funding opportunities including CRC, CRC-Ps and ARC Linkage schemes.
“It’s an honour to be offered this opportunity to contribute to the education and research activities of one of Australia’s preeminent universities.
“I’m very much looking forward to contributing to the intellectual life of the school, supporting students in their research and crafting new opportunities for the application of ‘design thinking’ to solving some of our most pressing social and economic challenges,” said Warwick Powell.
Mr Powell has previously been an Adjunct Research Fellow at James Cook University.
