Announcement
District Council of Grant has agreed to become a Gold Sponsor of the BeefLedger China Showcase III program.
The showcase program sees beef and wines from the Limestone Coast region of South Australia presented to a cross section of Chinese industry and consumer markets in:
- Shanghai;
- Shenzhen;
- Beijing;
- Guangzhou (with guests also from Huizhou);
- Changshu; and
- Foshan.
DC Grant has already played an important part of our journey to date, and we’re pleased that they have chosen to continue their support of our work.
The Council has shown an appetite for exploring new technology frontiers so as to position the region to capture the opportunities of the 21st century.
One of the main elements of common ground is a shared commitment to supporting the up-skilling of local youth in digital technologies and how these skills can be applied to support growth in traditional industries like food production.
Council’s sponsorship of the roadshow will also go towards a visit to the QUT design labs in 2020 for a group of Mt Gambier High School students who have been participating in the BeefLegends initiative. BeefLegends is about community value creation through the alignment of creative, commercial and community values and is part of the doctoral research being undertaken by Jock McQueenie.
BeefLegends has so far seen students involved in the development and production of digital narratives through the lens of the local producer community. Some of their work will feature in the digital experiences of Chinese consumers of beef from the Limestone Coast region.
The roadshow and BeefLegends project are integral parts of the Export Smart Contracts project being developed in collaboration with Food Agility CRC and QUT.
