Announcement 30 May 2019: BeefLedger signs Collaboration MOU with District Council of Grant
Under the watchful eyes of industry and community collaborators, BeefLedger’s Chairman Warwick Powell and DC Grant Mayor Richard Sage put pen to paper and executed a Collaboration Memorandum our Understanding.
The signing ceremony coincided with a chef exchange dinner generously hosted by Ray Scott (Scott’s Transport) and family, in their refurbished wool shed in Mount Gambier.
The MOU brings the parties together to work towards developing the BeefLedger platform and mobilize it to support the credentialing and export of produce from the Limestone Coast region. “It’s part of our ongoing mission to utilizing modern technologies to support regional resilience and prosperity in the 21st century,” said Warwick Powell.
The dinner was coordinated locally by Blue Lake Station founder, Michael Famularo and brought together BeefLedger’s collaboration with the Chef Outta Water chef exchange visit from the Changshu Culinary Association.
“It was a nice symmetry, bringing the chefs from Changshu to Mount Gambier, as beef from BLS was showcased in Changshu in March 2019. The family-like atmosphere provided visiting chefs from China, as well as C.O.W.’s Chef Chris Holen (all the way from Oregon, USA) a chance to get a complete experience of regional cuisine in a regional setting.
“Chef Outta Water co-founder Simon Millcock reminds us that food and wine tastes different depending on the setting. He’s right. In the relaxed atmosphere of the Scott Family renovated wool shed, regional beef and wines – selected from Di Giorgio’s Family Wines in the nearby Coonawarra – were showcased at their absolute best,” said Mr Powell.
BeefLedger thanks everyone involved for a memorable evening.
